Uniqueness of Gionee S8
3D Touch just like what is there on Apple’s iPhone 6S
Gionee has finally brought 3D touch functionality to its flagship device. It was previously found on Huawei Mate 8. The Gionee S8 can sense 3 levels of force, including touch, tap, and press.
- Touch: To select an application
- Tap: To preview the content of an application
- Press: To run an application
Gionee has also added an innovative sidebar to the phone. Users are able to bring out the side drawer any time by pressing the sides of the display and selecting the desired application with ease.
Loop Metal Design
As Gionee S8 is a complete metal unibody design, the company has added a world’s first invisible loop antenna. It claims to have got excellent signal strength on the papers. The phone supports full bands including b17 and b20 for global roaming.
Yes, Gionee has found a way to do it. We had seen this achieved somehow on Lenovo’s Vibe series of devices. This will surely be helpful to the market like India, where people tend to keep two different numbers for professional and personal life.
Pricing and Availability
We always get skeptical about the SoC Gionee picks to their devices. Everything looks top notch except the processor it packs. Doesn’t get why it is so. The Gionee S8 is priced at €449 (approx. Rs 34,000) and will be made available starting this March.
