As the phone sizes are growing day-by-day, so does the battery capacities have seen an upward growth to handle the power consumption. Well, the pain point as of today is, charging those heavy battery takes hours together. But, what Huawei is trying to do with their latest quick charging battery will blow your mind!
At the Battery Symposium in Japan, Huawei’s Watt Lab showcased a new battery charging model that can charge the batteries at a lightening speed compared to what we have seen so far. The company demoed two different varieties of battery design. A wearable friendly battery with a 600mAh capacity and a smartphone friendly 3000mAh capacity model.
The results were as below,
- 600mAh battery took just 2 minutes to charge from 0% to 68%
- 3000mAh battery took just 5 minutes to charge from 0% to 48%
That’s an insane quick charging battery right? Here is a video of the experiment,
Companies like Qualcomm and Samsung are doing extensive research and development on the same field. But what Huawei has done with quick charging technology can put others to shame. The company has done an extensive test on these batteries and proud about the revolution in lithium battery development.
Huawei claims that these batteries are designed to last long and won’t affect the battery life. This functionality is achieved from a catalyst for the capture and transmission of lithium through carbon bonds. The company is very eager to bring this latest quick charging battery to market soon. We hope they end-up with any hiccups in-between manufacturing.
