Polar M600 is a new MediaTek MT2601 Powered Android Wear Smartwatch

Smart wearables are slowly picking up the pace lately as industry veterans started to utilize the technology available today. All thanks to Google and iOS for porting their respective smartphone operating systems to wearables. Many known to the unknown and Kickstarter projects have started to show some uniqueness around this wearables world today. Joining the crowd, the Polar M600 has been unveiled with MediaTek processor and becomes yet another Android Wear smartwatch.

Starting from traditional watchmaker Casio and Fossil to bigger technology brands Samsung and Huawei have jumped onto Android wear smartwatch boat. We have even seen a modular smartwatch from blocks! Now activity-focused company Polar is getting into Android Wear, too. However, the success of wearables segment is yet to be measured.

Polar M600 – GPS Sports Watch Powered by Android Wear

Yes, Polar M600 is a new fitness-focused smartwatch like Fitbit’s or GoQii’s. It comes with heart rate sensor with 6 LED setups. Integrated GPS for tracking the speed, distance, and path. It also comes with a waterproof feature.


Like GoQii and Fitbit smart wearables, even Polar M600 adds a Smart Coaching feature. They are,

  1. Activity Guide: Shows how active you’ve been during the day and gives practical guidance for reaching your daily activity goal.
  2. Activity Benefit: Gives feedback on your daily, weekly and monthly activity, showing how your active choices help you stay healthy.
  3. Smart Calories: Lets you know exactly how many calories you’ve burned based on your weight, height, age, gender, your individual maximum heart rate (HRmax) and how hard you’re training.
  4. Running Program: Train for a running event with a personal and adaptive training plan in Polar Flow. Choose from four different targets, 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon, and get a training plan that fits you and your goals.

And a lot more!

All this can be viewed on their own Polar Flow app. However, the device does offer an easy way to connect your Polar M600 with 3rd party services. The training and daily activity details can be viewed with Apple Health Kit, Google Fit, MyFitnessPal (iOS users) and MapMyFitness. A lot more 3rd party integrations will be added in future.

Polar M600 Runs on MediaTek Wearable SoC!


In terms of the hardware of Polar M600, it gets the power from dual-core MediaTek MT2601 processor. Has 4GB of internal storage with 512MB RAM. A 1.3-inch 240×240 touchscreen with Gorilla Glass protection. There’s a 500mAh battery under-the-hood that can last for two days when connected to an Android smartphone.

Pricing and Availability

The Polar M600 will be available later this year for $329.90/€349.90. But one can pre-order it right away from Polar website. The wearable will be available in Charcoal Black and Powder White color options.
